#  What Is MSC?  The Money You Earn When Your People Shop

Most rewards programs give you points. Points expire, lose value, or only work in one store.

Moondala does something different. When the people you bring to Moondala shop, you earn **MSC (Moondala Social Currency)**, and MSC is built to hold its value.

Here's what MSC is, where it comes from, and why you can trust it.

## 1 MSC = $1. Always.

MSC has one price: **one US dollar**.

It doesn't go up or down with a market, and you can't trade it on an exchange. A 10 MSC commission is worth $10 to spend, today and next month.

We call it **commerce-backed stable value**: its value comes from real shopping and the real money behind it.

## Where does MSC come from?

From one place only: **real purchases.**

Every sale on Moondala carries a **6% fee, paid by the shop**. Shops list for free and pay nothing until they make a sale. That 6% is split:

*   **Up to 5%** goes to the people whose network made the sale happen, paid in MSC
    
*   **1%** goes to Moondala
    

That's the only way new MSC is created. There's no way to buy MSC, and Moondala doesn't print it for itself or hand it out for promotions. If nobody shops, no new MSC is created.

## Every MSC is backed by real money

For every MSC that exists, an equal amount of real money sits in the **Moondala reserve**.

*   When a purchase creates MSC, the money that pays for it goes into the reserve.
    
*   When a shop cashes MSC out to its bank, that MSC is **destroyed**, and the same amount leaves the reserve.
    

So the MSC in circulation and the money in the reserve always match. Every day, Moondala automatically checks that the MSC in circulation is fully backed by the reserve and accounted for in our records. Any mismatch is flagged for review.

New MSC is never created by one person alone. It's approved through a multi-signature wallet: more than one key holder has to sign before anything is minted.

## You earn when your people shop

Invite a friend, a family member, or a shop. From then on, **every time they buy, you earn MSC**, for life.

There's no target to hit and nothing to sell. You simply share Moondala with the people you know, and you're rewarded when they shop.

**Why commissions are "pending" at first:** your MSC shows as pending until the order is delivered and the shop's return window has closed. If a buyer returns the item, the commission is reversed instead of being paid for a sale that didn't stick. After that it becomes yours to spend.

## One currency, every country

Your friend buys something in Riyadh, and you live in Virginia. You don't exchange riyals for dollars or pay a conversion fee. **You earn MSC, and MSC is the same everywhere.**

That's what makes Moondala social commerce work across borders: a purchase in one country rewards the people who made it happen, wherever they live.

## What you can do with MSC

*   **Spend it** at any shop on Moondala, the same as cash
    
*   **Send it** to friends and family, even in another country
    
*   **Tip it** on posts you love in your feed
    
*   **Combine it** with a card: if your MSC doesn't cover the whole order, pay the rest by card
    

MSC stays inside Moondala: you can send it to anyone on Moondala, but not to outside wallets. That keeps every MSC tied to real shopping and real backing.

**Shops** receive MSC when customers pay with it and can cash it out to fiat whenever they choose. When they do, that MSC is destroyed and the backing money goes to the shop.

## Every movement is on record

Every MSC payment, commission, transfer and tip is recorded on **Base**, a public blockchain network built by Coinbase. Each movement carries a label that says what it was: a purchase, a commission, a tip, a refund.

You never need a crypto wallet, seed phrase or gas fees. You sign up with your email, and Moondala handles the rest in the background. But the record is public, so anyone can check where MSC came from and where it went.
